A Prayer To Saint Pancratius (St. Prancas)

A novena

These prayers implore St. Pancratius to intercede with God in our behalf. Also known as St. Pancras, he is the patron saint for the children.

History:
We know very little about this early Christian martyr. As a Christian who honored and prayed to God fearlessly, he was beheaded by either Valerian or Diocletian, Roman Emperors and persecutors of the Church in the third century. He was only 14 years old.

St. Pancratius was buried in a cemetery, which was later named after him. He is especially venerated in England because of the Benedictine monk Augustine of Canterbury, who dedicated his first church in England after Pancras. The relics of St. Pancras were presented as a gift the king of Northumberland.

Clearly, as a teenager raised during the time of great Christian persecution, Pancras showed great strength and devotion to God. He indeed died in the service of God.

PRAYER TO THE ETERNAL FATHER

I BELIEVE, Heavenly Father,
All that Faith teaches,
And in that Faith
I wish to live and die.

Through the intercession
of St. Pancratius
grant us good health
To fulfill our duties.

PRAYER TO GOD THE SON

Our good Jesus,
Grant me the virtue of Hope
In your promises
In the same measure
That St. Pancratius always trusted
In your Providence,
So that I may,
Through his intercession,
Obtain work and success
In all my undertakings.

PRAYER TO THE HOLY SPIRIT

Grant me the virtue of Charity
That I may love God
Above all things
And my neighbor
For the love of God,
As St. Pancratious did.

Through his intercession
I hope to obtain this grace
And that of being free
From adversities
And from ill-intentioned persons.

CONCLUDING PRAYER

O GLORIOUS St. Pancratius,
I beg you to obtain for me
All the graces that I need,
But especially health and work,
So that I may appear before you

...of all the weight and pain of life: that word is love...

a joyful life...

... is an individual creation that cannot be copied from a recipe...

i need to smile...=D

My smile can cover up what's inside...though my heart is drowning..i can still laugh...even if my soul starts breaking down...i still can tell a joke...even if i'm dying inside...i still can look funny...i guess that is how my life would go...i just have to smile and be happy even if the world is slowly killing me...:-(

Documentary on Ces Drilon's kidnapping on Sunday, July 13

You've seen the news coverage, but do you know the story?

"Kidnap" is a documentary about what happened in the nine days that ABS-CBN Senior Correspondent Ces Drilon, Cameraman Jimmy Encarnacion, and Assistant Cameraman Angelo Valderama were held captive by armed men in Sulu.

The documentary, airing on Sunday, July 13th at 10pm, is a story told from their differing perspectives.

The three narratives are pieced together into one storyline and supported by the extraordinary footage shot by Encarnacion in captivity- at great risk to his life.

"Kidnap" lets Valderama narrate what went through his mind while his kidnappers demonstrated to him just how he would be beheaded, lets Encarnacion relate how "Ma'am Ces" offered her life in exchange for his, and lets Drilon describe just how it feels to realize that no story is worth a life.

This is a documentary about recklessness and violence, about spirits that will not be broken by the barrel of a gun, about brotherhood, about family, about choices, about fear, and about just what it means to have courage.

i had watch the kidnap documentary and saw the actual footage that the camera man. its really a unforgotten experience that who ever will encounter this kind of situation.
